<lj:music>"Virgo" by the Nat Adderley Sextet</lj:music>

I stole this from a post from Nikki like a bigillion years ago. Proof that these things do not reveal anything except that people like me are suckers for wasting time.

Put your music player on shuffle.
Press forward for each question.
Use the song title as the answer to the question.
Terrifyingly true answers and scary.

Will I get far in life?
Village of the Sun

How do my friends see me?:
Rock 'N Roll McDonald's

Where will i get married?:
Tous Les Mensonges Que Tu Mas Dit (I have no idea what this means because I do not speak French, so I will pretend that it means I'm going to get married in France)

What is my best friend's theme song?:
Not Even Jail

What is the story of my life?:
There Is Life Outside of Your Apartment

What is/was high school like?:
There She Goes Again

How can i get ahead in life?:
Jak Sie Masz, Kochanie (by being Japanese, obviously!)

What is the best thing about me?:
Dizzy ke peeche (Clearly that I like Hindi mash-ups)

How is today going to be?:
This World May Lose Its Motion

What is in store for this weekend?:
Chill Out Lounge (Perhaps this indicates a hookah lounge? Hookah's pretty chill Mmmmm....hooooooookah)

What song describes my parents?:
Graduation Day

My grandparents?:
Nature Boy

How is my life going?
Lovers [haha, this sounds like a type of obscure British slang, (insert Cockney accent here) "How is your life going today, Bob?" "Why it's just lovers, Fred, lovers!"]

What song will they play at my funeral?:
Dig Your Grave (Haha, perfect! This is the only one that actually works)

How does the world see me?:
Sommerbokken

Will I have a happy life?
For What It's Worth

What do my friends really think of me?:
Morning Song

Do people secretly lust after me?:
2000 Places (I will interpret this to mean that people lust after me in 2000 places. Yay!)

How can I make myself happy?:
Put the Book Back on the Shelf (Perhaps the book is written by Foucault? Because then I really would make myself happy by putting it back on the shelf)

What should I do with my life?:
T.V. Cowboy (Wyatt Urp) (This is the best career advice I have ever heard)

Will I ever have children?:
Morning Bell (If I do, they will look like Thom Yorke)

What is some good advice?:
Hot Dog Wolf

What is my signature dancing song?:
Fake Plastic Trees (Actually, this might be true. If you can actually dance to Radiohead, that is...I would really call that melodic swaying, actually)

What do I think my current theme song is?:
Salsa de Noche

What does everyone else think my current theme song is?:
Schfifty Five (Schforteenteen, yeah!)

<lj:music>"The Illinois Enema Bandit" by Frank Zappa</lj:music>

OK, so I'm browsing the internet today, when what do I find? Costco sells caskets. Yes, caskets. In between buying 64 containers of dishwashing soap and 100 rolls of toilet paper, you can plan for your own death! Yay! Although you should be forewarned that: "THERE IS NO SCIENTIFIC OR OTHER EVIDENCE THAT ANY CASKET WITH A SEALING DEVICE WILL PRESERVE HUMAN REMAINS." Good to know. After viewing Costco's website, I was inspired to check out other funeral websites online. I stumbled upon Funeral Depot ("Where Overpaying Is Not Dignified"). In addition to disturbingly kitsch airbrushed urns, and the slightly alarming "art caskets", there are also "cultured urns" for members of the gay and lesbian community (pretty awesome if I don't say so myself). I also really want this raku urn, despite the fact that I don't have anyone to put in it. Perhaps I could just use it as a paperweight?

Also, I discovered that Arrested Development is possibly the coolest show ever and Segways are funny in any situation, especially when Kodak buys 20 of them for hapless employees to ride up and down Union Street promoting wireless cameras. Finally, Matisyahu is cool because he's an Hasidic Jewish reggae rap star, and, I'm sorry, but you just have to respect that.

    <lj:music>Kathleen's Empire Jazz Record</lj:music>

Fucking record player...YEAH! Also, stole this from Karen

10 Firsts:
First Best Friend(s): Angel Watson in first grade
First Screen Name: cadgirl911
First Kiss: Lester, junior year of high school
First Pet: Either my first goldfishes, Ariel and Belle, or my annoying cat, Chloe
First Piercing: My ears. I was in 5th grade, I think
First Crush: I think it was Mario in Kindergarten, although I didn't think of it as a real crush at the time. He gave me a stuffed bear that said I Love You!
First Music: Well, I listened to tapes as a kid, but my first CDs were "Pieces of You" by Jewel and "Jagged Little Pill" by Alanis Morrisette, alarmingly enough
First Car: My Odessey. I can honestly say that I think it was more kick-ass to drive a mini-van than it is to drive a hybrid. I have so many fond memories of that car
First love: Erm...I dunno what you consider "love", let me just say that my first boyfriend was Tommy in 7th grade. We ice-skated together. T'was cute
First stuffed animal: I had a shit-load, but my favorite was always "Bunny". I took that goddamned thing everywhere until the cleaning staff lost it during a hospital stay

9 Lasts:
Last Cigarette: At the September CSTU party. First cigarette as well
Last Alcoholic drink: Last Saturday, it was a rum and coke that I went way too heavy on the rum with. We need more Baileys
Last Car Ride: Went to Target and Vons on Saturday. How exciting
Last Kiss: This morning
Last Movie Seen: Saw
Last Phone Call: 30 minutes ago. Johanna in Leesburg
Last CD Played: A Putamayo one. "Mississippi Blues"
Last bubble bath: A couple of days before I left for school this summer. I wish we could do them here
Last time you cried: A couple weeks ago, I think

8 Have You Evers:
Have You Ever Dated One Of Your Best Friends: No, not really. I guess Justin has become one though
Have You Ever Been Arrested: No.
Have You Ever Skinny Dipped: Yes.
Have You Ever Been on TV: Yeah, at some convention as a kid
Have You Ever Kissed Someone and Then Regretted it: Yeah, not terribly though
Have You Ever had a Dream About Someone You Knew: Whenever I have a dream, it's usually about someone I know
Have You Ever played in the middle of a hurricane: Not the middle, exactly, but I have in the pre-hurricane madness

7 career paths you've considered:
1. Forenisic Pathologist
2. Poet
3. Child Psychologist
4. Forensic Psychologist
5. Forensic Anthropologist
6. Pediatrician
7. Writer

6 Things You've Done Today:
1. Got up and walked back from Mudd
2. Went to Italian and Abnormal Psych.
3. Went to lunch
4. Went to Intro. to Sociocult. Anth. and Fieldmethods
5. Hooked up my record player
6. Basked in the glory that is old records

5 favorite things In NO Order:
1. Listening to any type of music
2. Exotic cheeses
3. Indian food
4. Rain
5. Writing poetry

3 Choices:
1. Black or White: Black
2. Hot or Cold: Cold
3. Chocolate or vanilla: Depends on the type of chocolate

2 Things You Want to Do Before you Die:
1. Learn to play the accordian
2. Adopt a child

1 thing you regret:
1. Being a douche at any point in time at which I was one

<lj:music>"Trapped by Love" by Manu Chao</lj:music>

Well god damn. I finally realized I had this thing again. So yeah...summer. I'm looking at leaving here on the 27th of July, but we move out on the 21st, so I have the exciting task of sleeping in my creepy, empty house for a couple days. Whoa! Soo damn cool! Otherwise, I'm frieking psyched for this road trip. I'm opting for the "see cheesy America" route and I'll be fucked if I don't get to go to Graceland, in all it's kitschy glory. Of course, I haven't told Justin this yet, but I'm betting that I'll just scream "turn here" when we get to the turnoff, so he won't have a chance to resist. Otherwise, we'll get to Northern California around August 9th, so I can see ya then, Dawn! (hope you're reading this, I want to introduce you to my crazy-awesome "aunt" who lives in Sonoma, plus we should go to San Fransisco before you go to Ireland, you crazy fool!). Not much else interesting to report. There is a surprising lack of drama (gasp!) without being in college (well...except for Grace and Brian, but I'm not going there), and now I admittedly kind of miss it. I know, I know, I'm insane.

Hahaha, I thought this incident was so classic that I had to share. My friends and I were at IHOP last week, goofing off as always, when we suddenly saw these guys with FIGHTING WITH SWORDS outside the window. One guy, a pudgy teenager, took a swing at a gangly man in his twenties, who proceeded to defend himself with a wooden shield sewn together with duct tape. All of this while TWO cop cars pulled up behind them amd policemen hopped out, saying that there had been reports of "gang fights." The guys patiently explained that they were members of the SCA en route to a convention, while the cops tried not to laugh at their peasant costumes and obviously homemade weaponry. Eventually the cops left, completely disregarding the situation, and everyone on our side of the restaurant gathered to watch as they pulled out. The SCA members dispersed too, and as we walked out of the restaurant, the waiter asked us if WE had called the cops. We said no, it was too damn HILARIOUS to interrupt, and he confessed that everyone in the restaurant was pissed at the cops for interrupting an otherwise awesome evening. And this, in short, is what has restored my faith in humanity.

<lj:music>"Sister, Do You Know My Name?" by the White Stripes</lj:music>

Whoa, it's been fun these past few days. I got a job at Cosco as a food sample lady and I get to wear a hairnet! (SEEEEEEEEEEXXXYYYY). I also FINALLY got my name in the substitute system, so in addition to passing out little weiner samples all day I also get to deal with cranky kindergartners ready for summer! That said, I really LIKE both jobs. The Cosco one is awesome cause most of my coworkers are elderly women who I can bitch with about Arthritis (they also, surprisingly, complain just as much as I do about the lack of stuff to do in Leesburg that doesn't involve Jesus or shopping). I also like substituting because kids are one of the things I miss most being at college. Granted, they do annoy the hell out of me sometimes, but they're cooler than people give them credit for. It's nice to get away from the college mentality sometimes, but I'm also eager to get back to the craziness. OK, I'm going to be lame and make a movie analogy here. Remember in Fight Club when the Narrator (or "Jack" as Chuck fans seem to call him) says that "After being at Fight Club, everything else in your life gets the volume turned down"? OK, well, Fight Club is like college then. When you get away from it, it seems like most of life has the volume turned down. This is actually a good thing right now, but I think I'll be bored of it by the end of the summer. So yeeeeahh, home is cool. Mary had a bitchin party last night involving 99 Blackberries (which is apperantly a 99 proof blackberry drink) and Mean Girls (which I did NOT fall asleep during this time). We've also made several more trips to the House of Chicken (aka El Sabor Latino aka Carolina Bar and Grill aka the only place in town where you can get free drinks AND dance bachata all night) and our resident hookah bar, Sheesha, which is getting too damn popular for its own good. Rock on!

<lj:music>"Bitch's Brew (Saturday Miles)" by Miles Davis</lj:music>

Stole it from Kathleen/Karen, as if I have anything better to do =)

1.)If you could change one thing about your name, what would it be?
Definately change my last name. No offense to my Dad, but Davis is boring. I'd have a crazy Japanese name like Katsumo, or something entirely unpronouncable, just to piss off my teachers.

2.)Laptop or desktop?
Laptop, except for the small processing power.

3.)Sci-fi or fantasy?
No offense to Lord of the Rings fans or anything, but sci-fi all the way. Names like Faelina Uqbar of Dragon's Stump just piss the fuck out of me.

4.)Do scary movies scare you?
Not most of them. The only ones that really get to me are the things-jumping-out-at-you ones. I hate how they build up the music so you just KNOW the psycho's gonna jump out at any second but you don't know exactly WHEN so it scares the shit out of you when he does.

5.)If clothing were not required, would you still wear it?
Yeah, but I'd shorten it to just a bikini or something. Or better off, just a skirt.

6.)Can you play an instrument?
I play piano, poorly and I keep almost learning guitar.

7.)ARE YOU A DUCK, YOU MOTHERFUCKER?
Heck YEAH!

8.)If you came across a goat herding girl who had run into a spot of bad luck, would you send out a chain e-mail to help her?
Chain emails are for pussys. If she was a cool goat hearding girl, I'd just ask people to help.

9.)Would you prefer the world to end in fire or ice?
Fire would be cooler, but I'll have to say ice, because freezing to death seems a bit less painful. Plus, you could have ice sculptures!

10.)Should all mice have the little scrolly thingy in the middle?
Yeah! Those things are damn handy!

11.)Favorite band?
Radiohead!

12.)Have you seen the movie Rocket Man (that's rocket man, not the rocketeer) and is it awesome?
No, but that's a cool title.

13.)Do you curse?
At college, not at home. I do it in public sometimes and I need to cut that out.

14.)Duct tape?
As if you even needed to ASK
